"SATIN STITCH"

This is one of the most popular of all the sampler stitches. Satin Stitching is made of adjacent parallel straight stitches. Usually, the working thread is thick enough to cover the fabric threads. There are many applications for the Satin Stitch, including Long and Short Stitch, Bargello and Hardanger.

You will find variations of this stitch in Thea's sampler designs such as Heirloom Birth Sampler, Child of Spring and Crowning Glory.
